Phil's very first Opry experience was on March 29th, 2008. Of his special night, Phil commented, "I'm blown away, I'm absolutely on cloud nine, this is one of the biggest experiences of my life."

Phil Stacey made a name for himself when he performed for millions of viewers each week during his competition on the sixth season of American Idol. His renditions of the country hits "Where The Blacktop Ends," and "I Need You" were among his most praised performances of the season. In 2003, Phil enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as a Musician Third Class at Navy Band Southeast in Jacksonville, Florida.
